Violent Attempted Robbery at Pink Pony Strip Club
A night out at a Doral strip club turned violent when three men allegedly attacked a patron in an attempt to steal his expensive diamond chain worth approximately $240,000. The suspects now face serious criminal charges following their arrest on Wednesday evening.
According to the Doral Police Department, Manuel Barrios, 25, Yoan Guzman, 33, and Sadien Mena, 34, were taken into custody at approximately 9:15 p.m. at the Doral Police Station. Detectives used surveillance footage from the establishment to identify and apprehend the trio in connection with the brutal attack that occurred early Sunday morning at Pink Pony, located at 7971 NW 33rd Street.
Surveillance Video Captures the Attack
Police reports reveal that the incident began when Mena approached the victim and the two walked toward the men’s restroom. Once inside, Guzman allegedly pushed the victim, and between three to four men proceeded to assault him. While the victim was on the ground, he reported hearing one of the attackers reference his chain in Spanish, targeting the 10-karat, 2,000-gram diamond piece valued at $240,000.
The violent encounter was interrupted by the club’s security guards, who stopped the beating and escorted everyone out of the restroom. However, surveillance cameras also captured Mena and Barrios grabbing and pulling at the victim’s chain in an apparent final attempt to steal it. Despite suffering bruises and lacerations to his face, neck, shoulders, and arms, the victim managed to escape with his valuable jewelry intact.
Suspects Booked at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center
All three suspects were processed at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center shortly after 2:25 a.m. on Thursday. Barrios, Guzman (also known as Yoan E. Guzmanbango), and Mena (also known as Sadien Alexis Menacove) each face charges of attempted strong-arm robbery and battery. The case remains under investigation as authorities review additional evidence from the incident.
