Urgent Search Underway for Homestead Woman
A MEPIC Purple Alert has been activated in South Florida after a 69-year-old woman went missing from a Homestead medical facility earlier this week. Authorities are asking the public for help locating her as she may be in urgent need of medical attention.
Maria Ramirez was last seen on Tuesday at Leon Medical Center, located at 2250 NE 8th Street in Homestead. According to investigators, she suffers from a medical condition that requires medication, which she does not currently have in her possession.
Description and Vehicle Information
When last spotted, Ramirez was wearing a leopard-print blouse paired with blue shorts and black shoes. She was also carrying a red handbag. Police believe she may be traveling in a white 2021 Nissan Versa four-door sedan bearing Florida license plate FPYQ77.
The Purple Alert system is specifically designed to help locate missing adults who have cognitive impairments or other conditions that may put them at risk. Given that Ramirez requires medication she does not have access to, time is of the essence in bringing her home safely.
