Miami Dolphins Ownership and Historic Highlights

The Miami Dolphins were established by attorney and politician Joe Robbie alongside actor and comedian Danny Thomas. Since their inception, the team has seen various ownership changes, ultimately leading to Stephen M. Ross becoming the managing general partner and majority owner in February 2008. Ross, who is currently 74 years old, leads the ownership group that also includes notable minority owners such as Gloria Estefan, Emilio Estefan, Marc Anthony, Venus Williams, Serena Williams, and Fergie.

The franchise is recognized for historic achievements, including the 1972 Dolphins’ perfect season, which remains unique in NFL history. Originally, the franchise was purchased for $7.5 million by Robbie and Thomas. Ross oversees not only the Miami Dolphins but also the associated Hard Rock entities.
