Tlaxcala’s participation in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) 2026 has become a strategic platform to project the state’s cultural identity and tourism potential internationally, Governor Lorena Cuéllar told El Mundo Miami.
The governor emphasized that FITUR is a key global forum to promote Tlaxcala’s heritage, traditions and economic opportunities, while strengthening its presence in international tourism markets.
One of the most visible actions during the fair was Tlaxcala’s showcase at La Vaguada, one of Madrid’s most iconic and heavily visited shopping centers, attracting thousands of visitors every day.
Through this initiative, the state brought traditional gastronomy, folk dances and handcrafted textiles directly to the Spanish public, offering an immersive cultural experience beyond the exhibition halls.
Cuéllar noted that FITUR also serves as an effective space for meetings with business leaders and tourism professionals, allowing the state to advance cooperation agreements and long-term promotional strategies.
“We are very pleased to be at FITUR 2026 because we have been able to sign several agreements, talk with business owners, and it has been very productive in bringing more tourists to Tlaxcala,” he stated.
As a result of these efforts, Tlaxcala has experienced notable growth in international tourism, along with increased hotel development and the hosting of major international events.
The governor also announced that Tlaxcala is preparing to launch the country’s first national development hub, a milestone expected to generate employment and attract new investment, supported by the state’s skilled workforce.
